What is “syndemic”? It’s just a scientific word to explain the connection between disease(s) and social/environmental factors that make disease(s) worse (i.e. racism, transphobia, substance use, violence, poverty).

THP Collaborative
The Trans Health Project is directed by a research collaborative, led by Black & Latina trans women. Our team is made up of community leaders, community members, service providers, & researchers.
We convene monthly to analyze data, create program components, & discuss strategies for implementation, evaluation & sustainment.

Partnerships
Beyond the typical Academic-Community partnership between UCSD Health and The Center, we are partnering with trans and queer-led organizations. Our other community partners include; Proyecto TransLatina, TransFronteras, San Diego Black Pride, and the T-Spot.
