Our mission is crystal clear - we're here to support Black and Latina trans women and make sure they have access to the HIV care they need and deserve. It's time to break down the barriers, challenge the status quo, and focus on the real issues like combatting violence and stigma around sex work. Here's the tea - we're all about centering the experiences of our BLACK AND BROWN TRANS SIBLINGS!!
Our community-centered research project is rooted in the principle of “Nothing about us, without us”. We have a Collaborative that is leading this study’s planning and evaluation decision-making process through a series of monthly meetings.
So, what’s this research about?
We’ve enrolled a total of 125 Black and Latina transgender women who live in San Diego County and they will become our cohort throughout the 4-yearlong study.
Will use this cohort of women to evaluate their sustained engagement with HIV services (either treatment or prevention).
Our Collaborative has developed a community-program that has 4 distinct components, based on the data from our cohort of 125 women.
We will launch our community-program and our Collaborative will evaluate it to see if there are any ways to sustain or adapt our community-program.
